Planning everything in a smooth move with our FAQ !

FAQ # 1 Regard moving as an opportunity to get rid of belongings you no longer need. Consider making ”donate” and “sell” piles in each room for things you could do without.

People have a tendency to keep outdated paperwork for a very long time. Realise that paper is very heavy. Do yourself a favour and get rid of any outdated documents prior to moving.

Make sure you have a generous supply of packaging tape, scissors, markers and labels.

Defrost your refrigerator in time for moving day, pack food into an Esky.

Label boxes based on which room you want them in.

FAQ # 2

Defrost all fridges/freezers.

Disconnect washing machine.

Prepare all appliances and make sure cartons are ready for transport.

Dismantle all large toys or play equipment.

Drain all garden equipment of fuel.

FAQ # 3

Make sure that services have been disconnected and reconnected at your residence (i.e. Energex)

Redirect all mail.

Book house/bond cleaners.

Upon leaving premises, check all cupboards, rooms, garages, yard, and gardens etc. for any items you may have forgotten to pack.

FAQ # 4

Get services organised before you arrive, electricity, phone line, internet connection and gas.

Temporary bedding and takeaway food quite often help.

Get all boxes and furniture placed in a spot as close to the final location as possible.

Start with the kitchen and bedrooms so you can eat and sleep first.
